Tile Roof Replacement & Installation Service

A pitched roof is defined as a roof that slopes downward towards the ground. Pitched roofs are some of the most common and traditional roofing structures in the UK and at The Harrow Roofers, our professional pitch roof specialists are very experienced in installing new pitch roofs in various tile materials, all over Harrow and the surrounding areas. And although the lack of a sufficient foothold can make pitched roofs slightly more challenging to service, The Harrow Roofers have the experience to handle even the most challenging projects, and roof designs with even the most steepest pitches.

Types of tiled roofs we can install

There are a number of ways a pitched roof can be configured and so it is often said that every pitched roof has its own 'personality'. The most straightforward form is a 'coupled roof' because each side rises to the peak at the centre of the structure. But there are plenty of other designs that our pitched roof specialists at The Harrow Roofers have installed, including:

  • An offset coupled roof (where the roof peak is off centre)
  • Mono pitched roofs (one side slopes to another side of a building e.g to an extension)
  • Collar roofs (that increase internal loft space)

These are just a few of the pitched roof configurations that we can install. If you have something else in mind don't hesitate to give us a call. Our expert team can handle all pitch roofing configuration projects and we'd be happy to discuss this with you.

Tile roof material options

For pitched roofs there are several options that you can choose to cover it with. The most requested amongst our clients are ceramic roof tiles, slate roof tiles and reed and we'd be happy to walk you through the different types of tiles for your pitched roof and their cost, to help you make the right decision for you.

Slate tile roof

Slates roof tiles are a very popular option amongst homeowners because of their incredible aesthetics. Whether you're considering a slate tile roof for a new build or for an existing property, the timeless natural beauty of them looks great on both modern buildings and period properties. Slate is extremely durable and long-lasting and resistant to fire, moisture, and extreme temperatures. In fact, a pitched roof with well installed slate tiles can last well over 50 years and can sometimes last up to 100 years with little more maintenance required than a biannual clean.

Installing slate tiles on a pitched roof does require more expertise compared to roof tiles but our specialist team at The Harrow Roofers can handle any slate tile roofing project. Because installing a slate roof is more labour-intensive however, installation costs can be higher, and we'd be happy to assess your requirements and give you a   free and no obligation quote.

Clay tile roof

Natural clay tiles have an innate beauty because of how they retain a natural colour before maturing over time to develop into a darker and richer shade. And how much the colour deepens depends on the nature of the tile and the environment around it.

You can opt for machine made tiles which are dense, durable and more resistant to changing colour so that the colour remains largely the same, or just slightly darken over time. Because of how clay tiles are produced, you can expect slight colour variations in the tiles and this adds to their aesthetic to enhance the look of your roof.

Concrete tile roof

Most concrete roof tiles made across the world are surface treated to protect the tile during its early stages. And unlike clay tiles that keep their natural colour, all concrete tiles are coloured to suit. However over time the colour can fade although some manufacturers make sure that the concrete tiles they produce are colour-fast, by adding colour throughout the tile instead of just the surface.

There are several benefits to concrete tiles that have been treated, including improving the intensity of tile colours, minimising dust, dirt, lichen and moss contamination, extending the durability of the tile surface and protecting it from water damage. And the benefit of coloured concrete tiles is that there is consistency in the colouring throughout your roof.
